P1 Wimax kene Potong

we'll ... a year ago .. it was good news for me ..

now after 14 months .. it's a curse !

below are stats from Streamyx, Celcom, Maxis and

P1 Wimax back to back speedtest ...

Streamyx has the most stable broadband after 10 trial

the above figure just maintain ... i think TM has done

some upgrade on the nodes ... KUDOS to TM

I just signup for 1.2Mbps dedicated broadband from

Celcom this afternoon because i'm going to

potong P1 Wimax .. why ?? just see below result

i get from P1 nowadays .. and the best part ..

at time ... i see RED indicator .. no matter how i

reset or re-point the DS300 .. it still RED ..

dammit ... i have enuff ...

this is P1 at 1am morning .. the worst time of P1.

8-12 am is OK , .. after evening ..

the speed will be crawling ....

this is P1 at 10am, we wish this speed will be constant
but it won't .. in the evening .. it will be like a 14.4kbps
modem ....

this is Celcom at 1am, the ping is longer then Streamyx

Maxis this morning at 8am, is about on par with Celcom

but still losses to Streamyx

 

So here i conclude ... TM Streamyx has IMPROVED

their services in terms of BROADBAND services.

 

For mobility, Celcom ranks 1st and comes Maxis second

for now.

 

I'm going to get a Digi Broadband later today....

so stay tuned .. to who's the boss of Broadband ..

definately not P1 cos i'm going to POTONG them

today !!!!

Note : my judgement are based on

 P1 Wimax , Streamyx, Celcom and Maxis

comparing side by side ... unless u have those above

to compare, then please proof me wrong ....

i'm open for serious discussion ... as a customer

we pay for what we don't get usually ...

and what's written on paper is utterly rubbish ...

P1 Wimax Quality Johor Bahru

do you think with only complains will solve your problems ?

we'll, if only with complains then P1 will take action

then that is too late, i wonder in P1 is there is any engineer

or someone that is looking at their bandwidth ???

for what i know there are hundreds of P1 sales and

marketing people all around Johor Bahru main spots like

shopping center, hypermarkets, main roads, food courts

u name it .. u can see those people in blue, green and black.

but i wonder is there is anyone in the technical room

here in Johor Bahru ???

or if they have any ????

 check out the GREEN status on my P1 Wimax DS300 Modem

it's on HIGH SIGNAL meaning i'm face to face to the

repeater station ... so the above test is justified to say

that P1 Wimax broadband service = SUCKS !!!

so what we can do now is call the hotline and complain ...

this is what we Malaysian practice ... but will the service

become better ??? (finger crossed) i still have 3 more

months to go to terminate my P1 Wimax Line because

we're all UNDER CONTRACT !!!!! that's the best

part ... u pay monthly bills + contract so that they can

monopolized you for a year ... your actually paying for their

setting up cost ...

but every month you pay that certain amount of $

are u fully utilizing  it ? I bet no... but when ur utilizing it,

it starts to fail on you ... so basically your paying for the

defect, the intermittence and the lost of connection ...

and the best part is .. your actually feeding feedback

to them .. or in layman terms .. you feedback is

helping them to solve the problem in your area ..

or for them to rectify the error in your area ...

they should be paying us .. don't u agree ???

this is the result these few days when i was at home working ....

this result is the current result i took just a few seconds ago ....

this is the result when i'm in Singapore this afternoon

using my mobile phone on Maxis via Singtel

connected to my Notebook...

the result is OBVIOUS ... 3.5G is faster then P1 Wimax....

again i stress ...

i'm using my mobile phone to dial-in a 3.5G network in Singapore

is faster then P1 Wimax at my home in Malaysia ...

duh ....

so it's time again to choose my internet connection at home

below are the choice available in this BOLEH land..

1. TM Net = i gave up on the quality and SERVICE many years ago...

2. P1 Wimax = intermittence speed and connection everday, giving up too

3. Celcom 3G = used .. abit slow at times

4. Maxis 3G = using now ... not bad .. slow but consistent

5. Digi Edge = used... slow and intermittence

why after sooo long since the birth of internet

remember Jaring, US Robotics and 9 dot 6 ?

if ur in my era then you would know .. this BOLEH land

is really TAK BOLEH ... i'm sick of the politics

and the best part is the TAXPAYERS is paying the

consequences ...

we Malaysia is sooooooooooo lagging behind...

i wonder what did CYBERJAYA do to Malaysia ...

P1 Wimax Modem in detail (DS-300)

 

i received many inquiry on P1 Wimax modem setting, so here you are

in details ... really bohausiaw explanation hor

 so for DS-300 modem user, you can login to your modem's interface

by entering http://10.1.1.254 at your browser

User name : admin

Password : admin123

above picture are the main page or your P1 Wimax signal

status page and below is my translation...

RSSI = Received Signal Strength Indication, lower are better, so it's

best to position your modem at your house's window or door and try

to rotate 360 degree so to get the highest RSSI dBm

-30 to -50dBm is consider GOOD, so don't fret you have a - (negative)

integer, that is actually approx. 0.0005mW or approx.100-300 feet away

RSSI is always another way to determine how far is the base station to

your DS-300 in approx.

If you know the location of the repeater, then point to the repeater

so that your modem is on line-of-sigh with the base station

CINR = Carrier to Interference-plus-Noise Ratio, higher are better,

once you follow the tips on RSSI, consequencely CINR will be high

typical CINR reading is from 8 to 20 dB

TX Power = your DS-300 transmitting power to your nearest

base station, hi or low are determined by DS-300, there are calculation

done by RSSI value and CINR to determine the TX Power.

i bet the next question you wanna ask is .. how can i improved

or hack into my DS-300 ?

there is no way you can hack in unless, you improved the built-in TX/RX

antenna, and that will definately void the warranty.

my next project is to improved the built-in antenna, so

stay tuned 

FYI antenna used need to matched these modem

2.3 - 2.4 GHz (DS300)

2.5 - 2.7 GHz (DS250)

 3.3 - 3.6 GHz (DS350)

oh i received a call from my friends that just pops open my blog,

he says someone blogs about tuning or hacking DS-300

c'mon ... what can you hack with it ? it's like a router ...

and the best part is, we dun have the firmware and

the flash program for this specific hardware ...

so stop lying and stop whinning that you can hack or

tune your DS-300, get WRT54G on Streamyx

if you want to hack ... for that is a hackable router

all mother and sons knew it ...

Wiggy Wimax P1

i know i'm not the 1st to blog about wiggy ...

but hey here you are ... wiggy from P1 utilizing Wimax protocol ...

as per my junior advice ... he told me 6 months ago that P1

has undergo testing with a device as small as near a thumbdrive size

and much stable then the DS300 (elephant) modem ... but hey ...

you know me ... i can't wait ... waiting is not an options in my vocab

so now i'm feeling abit regret because i had the elephant at home

and i suppose to get a wiggy .... hahahahaha

ok don't lose your concentration on Jasmine ...that cute P1 chicks...

look at the black thing with a USB connector out ... that's wiggy ..

so with the news above ... you better think twice

or trice or as many times as you posibbly wish because

it's a contract ... if you breach it .. you still need to pay

fully as per 1 or 2 years plan ... even if u cancel laa ...

it's always a win win situation for Wimax ..

ok not to pour cold water on you laa ...
just sharing you the truth and don't get blinded by

What is Streamyx Combo ??? is it Streamyx without

paying the landline rent ... but that is just a marketting

gimmicks lah ...

Landline rent is a monthly fee ranging from RM25++

and above, i pay RM 45 because i'm 4KM away from TM

Node, what is Node? google is ur freind ..

To benchmark with P1 Wimax Broadband ..

we use 1.0Mbps to 1.2Mbps as a benchmark

Streamyx 1Mbps/384kbps

RM88 without modem

RM99 with modem

your total bill will sum up from as little as RM113++

for a 1Mbps/384kbps So the Combo Plan # 3

RM110 (1Mbps/384kbps + free Modem)

is really a saving .... plus now with + Wireless Access Point

gives is a double whammy !!!

so lets see what P1 can compare with the Streamyx Combo.

P1 Wimax package 1.2Mbps/500kbps

RM 99 (12 months contract)

RM 88 (24 months contract)

please take note, Streamyx has 12 months contract too..

with the speed P1 offers ... it's an obvious winner.....

with the Streamyx Combo promotion (free AP)

(AP stands for Access Point = WIFI ), i can speculate

this promotion is to go head on with P1 in Johor Bahru,

KL and soon Penang ... wherever P1 goes .. ha ha ha

but let me tell u ... an Access Point is relatively cheap

nowadays ... ranging from RM100++ so to break even

many people asked me ...

is P1 really has limit of 20 gigabytes of data usage per months ???
the answer is yes and no

YES
P1 employ Fair Usage Policy to all his user ...
so based on theor calculation lah ... we will hardly
exceed the 20gb data usage per month ...

actually they are comparing as if we're about to download
6,000 copies of Mp3 music a month ...
duh ... are all Malaysia MUSIC FREAK-ASS ????
we download movies ok .... via bit-torrent for your
information hahahaha anyway ... i seldom do that ...
and i'm no sifu in bit-torrent ...

ok, i'm da bit frustrated to get to know that there
is a limit ... F$#%! but look at the bright side below ..

1. this 4th quater of streamyx subscriber will decline
2. next year 2009 1st half will be a tough one
3. the current combo promotion sucks !
4. next year 2009 combo promotion will kill streamyx point blank
if the no brainer combo still do not revise
5. the streamyx promotion do not update itself for like a year now
that makes WTF is streamyx marketing guys doing ...
6. the new kid in the block is going to be extremely hard to ignore by
2009
7. the new kid on the block will be ... who else if not P1, the wimax provider
8. P1 will cover most of Johor Bahru commercial site by 1st half 2009
9. P1 will cover most of Johor Bahru major residential area by 1st half 2009
10. streamyx will lose more of it's value customer eg, industrial, commercial
leased line, or fixed IP line by Q3 2009

is from Motorola with 33.6kbps, i have modem from US Robotics with 9.600bps
my icq # is 984551, u do the counting back ... i started ICQ when ur still playing
marbles ... and i started IRC on the Linux running on a CDROM.

P1 Wimax Modem/Receiver @ my balcony, only medium signal,
but look at the speedtest result below ..... now u have a choice
to switch and now u know ur an ass paying this much for a puny
1/4 speed .... (i was, but not after tonight)

I was pointing to Johor Bahru Town, so far P1 has 2 base station
in Johor Bahru town, one up in menara Sarawak and the
other up in Menara KK Kam. That's the info i got.


Feast ur eyes with HIGH SPEED sucker !!!
