i went to my friends wedding last sunday ..
wanted to take some picture ... but unfortunately
my camera went flat of batter ... i've forgotten to
re-charged it after my malacca trip ....
anyway ... i went home with his wedding's hand gift
it's actually very traditional way of any malay wedding
that we go home with gifts... usually are the telor bunga
but my friend did the johor tradional wedding...
so i went home with telor pindang ...
originated from johor ...

that's the natural coloring from the herbs and spices
that the egg was boiled with ...
check out .. the egg has the shell coloring too ...
it's a long process actually .. to cut short ...
it need to be boiled with the herbs and spices
for like 3 days or so with guava leaves, lemon
grass, cinnamon, star anise, cloves, ginger and...
that's all i know lah ... maybe u can try wikipedia
or google is ur friend ... ha ha ha
anyway ... it has many pantang or in english
rules to follow .. if u break any of them...
the egg will root or the infusion may not happend
something like this ....
nowaday ... this telor pindang has gone
commercialize .. so it's easier to find them in
malay eatery now ... syabas !
how's the taste ... yah i almost forgot...
this one ... just OK, because i have tasted real home
made ones ... very very herbally tasted ...1 is sure not
enuff ....
